Sally Ride Day Take-Home Craft
Register to take home our space-themed Sally Ride Day Craft: space-themed paint suncatchers. All ages (parents can help younger children). Limited quantities. Craft must be picked up at the library starting Tuesday May 11, ending Friday May 14–sorry we cannot mail.
Each year on her birthday, May 26, the world celebrates the many achievements of the late American astronaut and astrophysicist Dr. Sally Ride.
Sally Ride broke many molds during her lifetime, and serves today as a role model for young people, girls, women, and aspiring scientists all over the world. Besides being the first American woman in space, she remains the youngest American astronaut to have traveled to space (at the age of 32), and received many awards and honors during her lifetime.
