Word Play
Visit Mason’s History Room to experience the latest installation by MAPS. Word Play is a 4-channel sound installation that uses audio books from the library’s collection as a source material for a generative composition. Listen as poetry, prose and philosophical texts blend together and create a wash of imagery and ideas.
This installation will be available from October 24 through December 28, on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am-noon.
MAPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings art and music education to underfunded youths and adults. They strive to create imaginative art-making spaces where participants can thrive as they explore a range of artistic media, dive into the history of art-making in the local community, and create new, original works. MAPS is at once an experimental art playground, a space for creative discourse and an educational program.
